Strauss Allard & Meyer, (Place Vendôme, Paris), made for Broudarge à Paris, circa 1925. Extremely fine and precious, 18 ct. gold and enamel, diamond-set amethyste and onyx, Art- Deco, eight day going timepiece, certainly made after a design of Verger. In original black leather fitted box.

C. Rectangular of blue enamel, the base of amethyst with onyx corners, the octagonal amethyst filial secured by two diamond-set enamel plates on a small onyx plaque. The spring loaded gold doors with a combination of different kinds of mother-ofpearl depicting a stylised Chinese landscape, two Chinese figures crossing a river on the foreground, diamond-set Chinese character applied on the top right corner, the reverse decorated en suite. By means of a diamond-set push piece, the doors may be opened to reveal the dial-plate which forms a triptych with the two doors. D. With applied diamond-set Arabic numerals. Diamond set " arrow" bands. M. Gilt brass rectangular with going barrel,straight line lever escapement, bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Signed above the dial and maker's master marks. In very good condition. Dim. 105 x 71 x 62 mm.
