C. Marcks & Co., Bombay & Poona, No. 36359, made by Henri Grandjean, Le Locle, Swiss, made for the Indian Market, circa 1880. Fine 18 ct. gold hunting cased, keyless watch with dead centre independent seconds.

C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets carrure ronde" with engine-turned cover and back. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds ring and sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel °spade" hands. M. Glazed 20"', frosted and gilt three-quarter plate double train with diffential winding, 27 jewels in screwed settings, pointed tooth lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Dead independent seconds shows in the Swiss way by means of a flirt on the escape pinion, with push piece in the band. Signed on the dial and back plate, case with Grandjean trade mark. In very good condition. Diam. 56 nun.
