Illegibly signed, Geneva, made for the English Market, circa 1730. Fine and unusual silver pair cased pendulum watch with calendar, enamelled back plate and protecting case.

C. Double body outer, the bezel chased with rocaille decoration, the back repoussé with a scene depicting Ulysses discovering the son of Hector in the latter's tomb, with outer foliage and floral decoration. Double body inner, bassine, polished. Silver mounted, shark-skin covered protecting case. D. Silver champlevé eccentric with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, pendulum aperture below chapter VI and subsidiary apertures for the date and fast/slow regulator. Gilt brass Louis XV hands. M. Hinged inverted gilt brass full plate with elaborated Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel balance with mock pendulum, flat balance spring. The back plate engraved with foliage is centred with a fine applied circular enamel panel painted with the portrait of a lady in the manner of Mussard. Signed on the border of the pendulum aperture. In good condition. Diam. 63 mm.
