Not signed, Swiss, circa 1830. Precious and rare gold and enamel egg cup with built-in music box, in shagreen covered fitted box.

The cup with scallop edge and sectional filigree decoration between panels of black and white enamel flowers, one panel replaced by a plain gold panel with applied chased gold crown. Centre band of symmetrical scrolled gold champlevé foliage patterns around white and gold enamel flowers, the rest of the egg with white and gold enamel leaf forms descending from the apex. M. Brass circular pin dise musical train with two combs of respectively 9 and 8 teeth, wound by turning the foot. In very good condition. Dim. 58 x 48
