Gaudron à Paris, circa 1690. Fine and rare ebonised pear-wood, pewter inlaid, tortoiseshell veneered, hour and half hourstriking, early pendulum dock.

C. Rectangular with half-moon pediment and front door inlaid with engraved pewter foliage, the pediment centred with a mask, the door with " fleurs de lys" on the corners, gilt bronze finial and four bun feet, glazed side panels. D. Brass chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Fine gilt brass pierced and engraved "persil" hands. Brown velvet covered dial plate, the gilt bronze signature cartouche, below the dial, flanked by two "Renomées". M. Brass rectangular with turned pillars, going barrels for both the going and the striking train, verge escapement with short pendulum, silk suspension. Striking on a bell, the count wheel on the back plate. Signed on the cartouche below the dial and on the back plate. In very good condition. Dim. 60 x 32 x 15 cm.
