Cugnier Leschot, Geneva, circa 1800. Very fine and elegant, 18 ct. gold, fully skeletonised quarter repeating watch with unusual automaton Jacks.
C. Double body, Directoire with reeded band, flat pendant and polished back. Hinged glazed gilt brass cuvette. D. White enamel chapter ring with Breguet numerals. Blued steel "serpent" hands. Multicoloured gold scene with a sheep on the foreground in a landscape, Jupiter at the top, flanked on each sicle by woodland automaton deities striking hours and quarters on Jupiter's attributes. M. Gilt brass full plate, fully skeletonised, the going barrel with engraved cap, gold wheel train, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, pierced polished steel cock with Tuby end-store. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant, the polished steel repeating work visible on the back plate. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 60 mm.
