Not signed, Swiss, circa 1820. Rare and unusual, 18 ct. gold, quarter repeating watch with three automatons and special escapement.

C. Three body, "forme quatre baguettes", engine turned. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. D. White enamel chapter ring with Breguet numerals ( slightly restored). Blued steel Breguet bands. Glazed three coloured gold and enamel automaton scene applied on a blued steel ground. On the top, two cupids Jacks strike hours and quarters on two bells, driven by the repeating train as well, a sitting lady is spinning wool on a theater stage. M. Frosted and gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, early lateral lever escapement, plain brass three armed balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock and polished steel end-piece. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. In very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
