Not signed, Geneva, circa 1790. "L'escarpolette". Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl-set watch with automaton scene.

Double body with split-pearl set bezel and glazed back over the enamel automaton scene in varicoloured gold of a lady on a swing, being propelled by a young man, the ground decorated with a landscape and blue translucent enamel over engine-turning, twisted glass rod rivets on the foreground. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring (slightly restored). Gold Breguet hands. M. Inverted gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator, the index in the dial-plate. The automaton scene is driven by an independent train with going barrel and fly-regulator. hl very good condition. Diam. 59 mm.
