Boni à Monpellier, circa 1600. Very fine and rare silver and gilt brass watch with alarm.

C. Double body, the gilt brass band pierced and engraved with foliage, polished silver back, the polished silver cover engraved inside with a scene depicting Diana the huntress, the border chased with a winged angel's head and inhabited foliage. D. Silver chapter ring with Roman mimerais and half hour divisions, inner gilt brass revolving alarm setting disc chased with inhabited foliage. Blued steel single hand and pointer. Gilt brass dial plate chased with a decoration matching that of the cover's border. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with urn pillars, fusee with gut-line, short train, verge escapement, plain steel two-arm balance without spring, irregular oval foliage pierced and engraved cock secured by a pin, click and ratchet wheel set-up. Alarm train with gilt brass fixed barrel pierced and engraved with foliage, striking on a bell. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 47 mm.
