Montandon, No. 32932, Locle, Switzerland, made for the Indian market, circa 1900. Fine 18 ct. pink gold, hunting cased, keyless automaton quarter repeating watch.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", fully engraved with foliage, the cover with a tiger devouring his prey, the back with a stag and a lion 's head. Gold cuvette with engine-turned border, engraved with technical details. D. White enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals (slightly restored), the centre with automaton blacksmiths, forging on the envil. Gilt brass "Louis XV" hands. M. 19"', three quarter plate, nickel plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 35 jewels, counterpoised straight fine lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Signed on the cuvette. h1 very good condition. Diam. 59 mm.
