Just & Son, London, No. 1970, Swiss, made for the Chinese market, circa 1840. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl-set centre seconds watch with special escapement.

C. Double body with split-pearl set fixed bezel, pendant and bow, the back with a fine enamel panel with scallop edge, painted with a composition of summer flowers on a green ground (restored), outer pink and white champleve enamelled decoration . Hinged gold cuvette engraved on the border with a leaf decoration and centred with a rosette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Gold "spatulate" hands. M. Gilt brass, "Chinese" calibre with free standing barrel, fully engraved with a floral decoration, single wheel duplex escapement, three-arm steel balance with wedge shaped and partly blued steel weights, flat balance spring with regulator and diamond end-stone. Signed on the movement. In good condition. Diam. 59 mm.
