Tiffany & Co., No. 9010, movement by Longines, No. 2978627, case made in France, circa 1920. Extremely fine 18 ct. gold, silver and enamel gemset eight day going desk dock, in original red leather fitted box.

Circular, made of gold with a black cloisonné decoration and set with a row of calibrated citrines, linked by means of a silver hinge to a pyramidal onyx foot with square gold base with black champlevé enamelled decoration. D. Black onyx chapter ring with applied diamond-set Roman numerals, glazed centre with a fine green jade carved panel. Diamond-set bands. M. 19-, giit brass, eight day going, 19 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring with special micrometric index. Signed on the case and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 82 mm. 120 mm. high.

Although made for the American market with a Swiss movement, it is not surprising the case of this dock vas made in France. The most eminent designers of that period, such as Verger, Vever, Hatot, Cartier, Ostertag, Boucheron, Mauboussin, Van Cleef & Arpels, were working in Paris and their creations were praised all over the world.
