Not signed, Geneva, circa 1860. Fine gold, enamel and diamond set form keyless pendant watch designed as a Cicada.

Three part, underside realistically chased and engraved with legs and underbody, wing covers entirely decorated in red translucent enamel over engine turning and inlaid with rose-diamonds, the thorax decorated with rose-diamond emerald set eyes; sprung loaded wing opens from a button in the base to reveal the dial. D. White enamel with blue radial Arabic numerals. Gold "spade" hands. M. Glazed, 7"', frosted and gilt, bar caliber with going barrel, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement with plain three-arm balance, flat balance spring and regulator. In very good condition. Dim. 47 mm. overall. 20 mm. wide.
