Benjamin Webb, London, No. 45, by the King's Patent, with London hallmarks for 1799. Fine and rare silver pair cased Explorer stopwatch with built-in compass.

C. Outer and inner, double body, polished, both marked "N.T.W." (Nicholas Thomas Wood). D. White enamel small eccentric with Roman numerals, with a compass en pendant and subsidiary seconds below. Gold arrow hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with scrolling foliage, diamond endstone, compass hand locking boit and stop-watch lever in the bezel . Gilt brass dust cap. Signed on the dial, dust cap and back plate. h1 very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
