Joseph Knibb, London, circa 1670. Very fine and rare silver pre-balance spring clockwatch.

C. Double body, bassine with split bezel and loose ring pendant, the border of the back pierced and engraved with a fine floral decoration, the winding holes with shutters. D. Silver champlevé with Roman numerals. Later blued steel hand. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with plain brass three-arm balance wheel foliot, wormandwheel set-up with pierced blued steel bracket and silver regulator disc, gilt brass florally pierced and engraved cock secured by a screw. Striking the hours on a bell , the train with gilt brass fixed barrel and count wheel on the back plate. Signed on the back plate. In good condition with some restoration. Diam. 58 mm.
