James McCabe, Royal Exchange, London, No. 1930, mid 19th Century. Very good, small gilt brass cased, eight day going cariage clock striking, and repeating hours on a gong lever escapement. Leather covered travelling box with original numbered winding key.

C. Gilt brass, glazed three sides and top, repeat button. D. Silvered brass, Roman chapters, blued steel Breguet hands, gilt brass bevelled frame to whole. M. Brass rectangular, fusees and chains to both trains, maintaining power on going side. Platform lever escapement underslung, single roller, pointed-tooth wheel, plain brass balance, flat balance spring, ruby endstone to balance cock, strike/silent. Signed on dial and movement. In very good condition Dim. 14 x 10 x 8.5 cm. excluding handle.
