Notes

Literature: John Hawkins shows no such example in his book Thomas Cole & Victorien Clock Making, 1975. The platform lever escapement with compensation balance is in all respects much superior to Cole's usual pattern. Note: Cole almost never used wooden cases. This particular proudly signed dock may well be unique.
