J. R. Losada, 281 Regent Street, London, No. 2317, made for the Spanish Market, with London hallmarks for 1850. Fine 18 ct. gold, half hunting cased, keyless, minute repeating "Grande and Petite Sonnerie" double calendar clock-watch with special escapement.
C. Five body, massive, "bassine et filets", marked "G. H." (Gustavus Huguenin), entirely engraved with scrolling foliage. Hinged gold cuvette engraved: Joaquin Escandon, Mejico within a floral decoration. D. Silver engine-turned with Roman numerals, subsidiary dials for days of the week, dates and running seconds, the centre engraved with flowers, the border with gold cast leaf decoration. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 18"', frosted and gilt, three-quarter plate, double train, 17 jewels in screwed settings for the going train, duplex escapement, cut bimetallic balance, flat balance spring, diamond endstone. " Grande and Petite Sonnerie" on gongs with optional lever in the bezel. Repeating on gongs with push piece in the band and independent repeating train. Signed on the dial and back plate.
