Thomas W. Cooper, 7 Thavies Inn, Holborn, London, No. 3222, with London hallmarks for 1877. Rare and fine 18 ct. gold watch with independent dead centre seconds.

C. Three body, massive "bassine et filets", polished with spring loaded back, marked "0.1 C.". D. White enamel with Roman numerals, sunk centre and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "pear" hands. M. 19"', frosted and gilt three-quarter plate, double train, 26 jewels in screwed settings, going barrels, pointed tooth lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel balance spring with terminal curve. Dead independent seconds shown in the Swiss way by means of a flirt on the escape pinion, with boit in the band. Signed on thedial and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 52 mm.
