C. Outer double body, tortoise-shell with a fine silver inlaid decoration of flowers and doves. Inner double body bassine with split bezel, polished. D. Silver champlevé engraved with scrolled foliage in which Sun and Moon symbols, inlaid in a blued steel disc, appear alternatively in an open sector to indicate the hours of day and night, marked along the rim in Roman numerals, the minute being shown in a conventional manner on the outer Arabic ring. Blued steel "poker" minute hand. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with scrolling foliage. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 53 mm.
