J.W. Benson, By Special Warrants of H. M. The Queen and H.R.H. The Prince of Wales, 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill, London, No. 55340, with hallmarks for 1890. Fine and extra large 18 ct. gold hunting cased keyless watch with power reserve indication, made for Barbihan Mukhaigi, Uttarpava, Calcutta, with a letter dated 11 October 1890, from J.W. Benson about the monogram, in original exotic wood, with applied silver fretted corners and inlaid cartouche engraved with the crest of the owner.

C. Four body, massive "bassine et filets", engraved in a vermicelli pattern, the cover engraved en reserve with the crest of the owner, the back with champlevé enamelled monogram. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds and up-and-down scale. Gold "pear" bands. M. 22"', frosted and gilt hall plate, 17 jewels in screwed settings, fusee with chain and maintaining power, pointed-tooth lateral escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, balance spring with terminal curve, diamond endstone. Signed on the dial and movement. In excellent condition. Diam. 66 mm.
