Notes

Note: Exceptionally well made instrument, perhaps made by a hyghly skilled clock-maker for his own use. The unusual temperature compensation employs a steel rod with concentric tubes of zinc and steel each tube being partly skeletonised. The outer steel tube supports the weight at a position approximating to its centre of gravity.
