George Clarke, London, No. 1135, made for the Islamic Market, circa 1770. Very fine and unusual 22 ct. gold and diamondset pair cased quarter repeating watch.

C. Outer, double body paved with large rose-cut diamonds. hlner, double body, bassine, finely pierced and engraved with scrolling foliage, a rosecut diamond set in the pendant. D. Gold champlevé with Turkish numerals. Blued steel "poker and beetle" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with turned pillars, fusee with chais, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with scrolling foliage. Quarter repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Gilt brass dust cap. Signed on the dial, dust cap and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 42 mm.
