Edward East, Londini, circa 1660. Very fine and rare silver gilt pair cased prebalance spring clock-watch.

C. Double body, bassine with split bezel and loosering pendant, the band pierced and engraved with Summer flowers, the back similarly chased on a matt ground. Leather covered protecting case with silver piqué work decoration (leather work restored) . D. Silver champlevé with Roman numerals. Fine blued steel tulip band. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with tulip pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with plain brass three-arm balance without spring, worm-and-wheel set-up with pierced blued steel bracket and silver regulator disc, gilt brass florally pierced and engraved cock secured by a screw. Striking the hours on a bell , the train with gilt brass fixed barrel and silver count wheel on the back plate. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 62 mm.
