Universal Genève "Microtor", specially made for the 1958 Basel Fair and presented the same year at the Comptoir Suisse de Lausanne.

Unique electrically powered large revolving, skeletonised movement, calibre No. 258, made to demonstrate the functions of the ultimate development of the "Microtor" self-winding system, patented on the 27 May 1955. The electrical mechanism in the base, drives the revolving watch movement made of plexiglass, in order to simulate the movement of a watch when worn at the wrist. The going barrel is wound by the half-moon bidirectional micro rotor countersunk in the movement. Straight line lever escapement, plain brass two-arms balance with "incabloc" suspension, flat balance spring. Base and movement signed. In very good condition. Diam. 35 cm.

Notes

The micro-rotor, being countersunk in the movement, enable the production of much thinner self-winding watches. This model was presented at the Exhibition "Foire de Bâle" in 1958, and at the "Comptoir Suisse de Lausanne" in 1958.
