Not signed, Swiss, No. 25753, sold circa 1840 to the French Royal family. Fine and rare, extra flat, 18 ct. gold watch with eccentric dial and visible balance, gold short chain and matching male key.
C. Three body, "bassine pincée", the engine-turned back centred with the coat of arm of the French Royal family. D. Silver engine turned with Roman numerals on a small eccentric polished chapter ring, the balance visible above in a circular aperture. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 17,5?, gilt brass, inverted "Bagnolet" calibre with the train of wheels sunk beneath the dial in the single plate, the reverse engraved with a floral and foliage decoration, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain steel five-arm balance, flat balance spring. In very good condition. Diam. 46 mm.
