Fd. Vigne, London, No. 1336, circa 1760. Very fine 20 ct. gold mounted bloodstone quarter repeating watch with a short gold chain and a gold mounted bloodstone key.
C. Double body outer, the bezel and the edge of the bloodstone back with pierced and chased rocaille decoration, diamond set push-piece. Double body inner, bassine, finely pierced and engraved with a mask and inhabited foliage. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Rose-diamond set Louis XV hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with column pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring and gilt brass English cock. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. GiIt brass dust cap. Signed on the dust cap and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 48 mm.
