C. Four body, "forme collier" with reeded band; the bezels chased with a floral decoration, the engineturned back engraved with flowers and a rocaille decoration. Gold cuvette engraved with technical details and centred with an aperture for hand setting graduated on the border. D. Silver engine-turned with Roman numerals, the centre engraved with foliage. Gold Breguet hands. M. 17"', gilt brass, bar calibre, 4 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Signed on the cuvette. In very good condition. Diam. 44 mm.

Notes

The very primitive stem winding system of this watch was certainly devised before that of Adrien Philippe. The watch is wound by means of the winding crown, the hands are set by means of the blued steel index through the aperture of the gold cuvette.
