Not signed, German, partly XVIIth century. Unusual, gilt bronze watch designed as a scallop shell.

C. Double body, in form of a scallop, engraved in a realistic pattern. D. Silver chapter ring with Roman numerals. Blued steel single hand. GiIt brass dial-plate engraved with foliage, the centre with a rosette. M. Hinged shaped gilt brass full plate with turned baluster pillars, fixed barrel with revolving arbor, verge escapement with plain two-arm steel balance without spring, irregular gilt brass cock, pierced and engraved with strawberry flowers, secured by a pin. In good condition with some restoration. Dim. 61 x 40 mm.
