Not signed, Swiss, circa 1820. Rare and unusual, 18 ct. gold, quarter repeating watch with four automatons.

C. Three body Empire, with reeded band and engine turned back (worne). Hinged plain gilt brass cuvette. D. White enamel chapter ring with Breguet numerals (slightly restored). Gold Breguet hands. Glazed three coloured gold automaton scene applied on a blued steel ground. On the top, driven by the repeating train, a Punchinello suddenly appears to fight against Father Time, while below, two cupids Jacks, strike hours and quarters on two bells. M. Frosted and gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock and polished steel end-piece. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. In good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
