Girod à Copet, Swiss, circa 1690. Fine and rare silver early balance-spring watch with alarm.

C. Double body, with loose ring pendant, the bezel engraved with leaf decoration, the back pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage, centred with a small engraved landscape. D. Silver champleve with Roman numerals and silver revolving alarm setting disc. Blued steel single hand and pointer. M. Hinged gilt brass with turned pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, short early flat balance spring, gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage. Signed on the back plate. In good condition. Diam. 46 mm.
