Ge. Achard Père & Fils, Genève, No. 16261, circa 1790. Fine and rare 18 ct. gold quarter striking and repeating clockwatch with automaton Jacks.
C. Double body, polished with pierced reeded band. D. Eccentric white enamel with Breguet numerals. Blued steel "spade" hands with gold tips. Dark blue enamel dial plate (slightly restored) with remouloye laurel branches and above the dial small varicoloured Cupid Jacks striking and repeating hours and quarters on two bells. M. Hinged giIt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock pierced and engraved with the letters forming the maker's name: "A.C. H.A.R.D. - P. & F.". Striking on a bell with fixed barrel, the train released by a button on the pendant. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
