Not signed, Swiss, circa 1820. Fine 18 ct. gold, quarter repeating musical watch with an automaton scene.

C. Three body, Empire with twisted band and reeded bezels, the engine-turned back centred with engraved trophies of music. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. D. White enamel chapter ring with Breguet numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. Driven by the musical train and applied on a blue enamel ground, multicoloured gold automaton scene, depicting a sitting lady playing the guitar near by a running fountain, a Cupid beating time. M. 22"', gilt brass double train with going barrels, inverted cylinder escapement with plain brass three-arm balance and flat balance spring. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Pin-disc musical train with 20 vibrating steel blades on either side of the disc. In very good condition. Diam. 64 mm.
