Not signed, Swiss, No. 4831, circa 1790. Fine and elegant, 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl-set watch.
C. Double body, Directoire, the bezels set with a double raw of split-pearls, the back inset with a blue enamel panel over engine-turning, painted with a fine portrait of a maiden. D White enamel with Breguet numerals. Gold skeletonised hands. M. Hinged gilt brass, flat calibre drawn from that invented by Hessen, the fusee and the barrel passing through the back plate secured by a large half-moon bridge, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring. In very good condition. Diam. 53 mm.
