Not signed, Swiss, circa 1810. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel gem-set form watch designed as a butterfly.

Double body, the bezel with blue champleve enamelled foliage decoration, the front of the butterfly of blue enamel with engraved azure champleve enamelled border, painted doves and flowers on the wings and further gold champleve floral decoration. The back engraved with champleve enamelled pattern simulating the butterfly scale structure in various realistic colours and inlaid with split-pearls, ruby, sapphire, and emerald cabochons. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Blued steel hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring and regulator, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. In very good condition. Dim. 34 x 65 mm.
