C.Two-body bassine with loose ring pendant, the bezel with chevron engraved decoration, the back entirely overlaid with a gold panel pierced and engraved with scrolling foliage and summer flowers against a green tranlucent enamel ground over engine-turning. D. Gold, the white chapter ring with Roman numerals and half hour divisions, the centre of green translucent enamel over engine-turning. Single blued-steel hand. M. Hinged gilt-brass full plates, turned urn pillars, fusee with gut-line, short train, verge escapement with plain tow-arm steel balance without spring, gilt brass foliage pierced and engraved irregular cock secured by a screw, the ratchet-wheel set-up cock with similar decoration. Signed on the back plate. In excellent condition. Diam. 25 mm.

Jean Augier à Paris. Master in 1600, was working in the City in 1620. A large enamelled watch, signed J. Augier à Paris, painted with a scene of the Holly Family, in the Bloch collection, was sold by auction in 1921. Another watch, signed Jehan Augier is now in the M.I.H. of La Chaux-de-Fonds.
