Duclair Vallier à Lyon, circa 1670. Fine and rare, silver pre-balance spring watch with alarm.

C. Double body, bassine with split bezel and loosering pendant, the back pierced and engraved on the border with summer flowers and centred with an engraved rosette. D. Silver champleve chapter ring with Roman numerals, inner gilt brass revolving alarm setting disc engraved with scrolls, steel single hand and pointer. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with turned baluster pillars, fusee with gut-line, verge escapement with plain twoarm steel balance without spring, irregular foliage pierced silver cock secured by a screw, ratchet and wheel set-up regulator matching with blued steel ratchet wheel and spring. Alarm on a bell, the alarm train with gilt brass fixed barrel, pierced and engraved with scrolls. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 40 mm.
