Notes

A.H. Rodanet, born in 1837 was the son of Julien Hilaire Rodanet (1810-1884), fine maker, working in Rochefort (Charente Maritime-France) where he made more than 200 marine chronometers between 1849 and 1866 with the assistance of 25 wards supplied by department. A.H. Rodanet, trained by his father and in 1866 was his successor. He followed his serial numbers until he Ieft Rochefort to Paris. Three of his chronometers are therefore numbered 243 to 246. He settled in Paris in the rue Vivienne and produced a new series of chronometers from No. 400 to 422. He was the agent of Patek Philippe in Paris. He was 70 when he died in 1907. He published in 1877 with A. Ledieu: Les Montres Marines, Dunod Editions, Paris.
