Notes

Apparently, one thousand examples of this watch were started in 1877, of which only five hundred and ten were finished. An identical watch from The Time Museum, Rockford, Illinois, is described and illustrated by Donald R. Hoke, in The Time Museum Historical Catalogue of American Pocket Watches, 1991, p. 242, No. 218.
