Ilbery, London, No. 6149, made for the Chinese market, circa 1820. "Le Montreur de Chien". Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl-set watch with special escapement.

C. Double body with split-pearl set fixed bezel, pendant and bow, the back inset with a fine enamel panel painted with a charming scene depicting a young couple of Circus dog leaders. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with a formai decoration. D. Gold engine-turned and champleve with Roman numerals and outer three-coloured gold floral decoration. Blued steel "pear" hands. M. GiIt brass, "Chinese" calibre with free standing barrel, fully engraved with a floral decoration, single wheel duplex escapement, three-arm brass and steel balance with wedge shaped and partly blued steel weights, flat balance spring with regulator and diamond end-stone. Signed on the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 58 mm.
