Not signed, probably Piguet & Meylan, Geneva, circa 1820, the enamel probably by Adam. "Le Chiromancien". Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl-set musical snuff-box with a builtin watch.

C. Double body, bottom and side panels of blue translucent enamel over engine-turning, the borders of azure enamel with champleve foliage decoration. The lid with split-pearlset border, entirely enamelled with a very fine painted scene depicting a young couple paying a visit to le Chiromancien. Hinged left side panel disclosing the watch. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and fast/slow white enamel sector. Azure enamelled dial plate with champleve floral decoration. M. Rectangular, full plate with cylindrical pillars, going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Musical train with pin cylinder and 17 groups of three vibrating steel blades, playing two tunes at will. In very good condition. Dim. 88 x 54 x 25 mm.
