C. Three body mahogany deck-watch type box. Brass bowl with screwed bezel. D. Frosted and silvered with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and up-and-down scale. GiIt brass "spade" hands. M. Frosted and gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, the barrel passing through the back plate, and secured by a bridge, Earnshaw type spring detent escapement, Guillaume integral compensation balance, free sprung blued steel helical balance spring with terminal curves, diamond end-stone. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Dial diam. 70 mm.

This instrument was sold with Nos. 1063, 1066, 1069, 1081 and 1100 to the same customer. Made by Louis Leroy (1860-1935), son and pupil of Theodore Marie Leroy. He joined the firm Le Roy & Fils in 1879 to fom the new compagny L. Leroy & Cie., but followed for the chronometers the serial number began by his father.
