Leroy & Cie., Paris, No. 1852, Brillé Patent, sold in 1959 for 1500 Francs, to the Service Hydrographique de la Marine, with original rating book, attesting it was delivered to the submarine L'Espadon on the 19 April 1963. It was subsequently transfered and used on the submarine Arethuse from the 7 April 1977. Fine Base de temps electromagnetique type "Chronostat II".

C. Square glazed amagnetic painted metal case. M. Transistor controlled electrically impulse, chronometer pattern Guillaume balance, free sprung blued steel helical balance spring. Signed on the movement. In very good condition. Dim. 70 x 67 x 40 Mm.

Sold with contest result photocopies of the Concours de Chronomètres organised in 1959 by the Service Hydrographique de la Marine, to purchase the chronometers for the French Navy. This type of instrument was produced in 37 examples only between November 1957 and December 1959.
