Anonymous, French, Patent S.G.D.G. circa 1890. Fine and rare gilt brass hour and half hour striking "mignonette" carriage clock with unusual striking work.

C. Gilt brass "gorge" type, glazed on five sides. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued-steel "spade" hands. M. Brass eight-day going with single double ended going barrel for both the going and the striking train, platform escapement with lateral lever escapement, bimetallic balance, blued-steel flat balance spring. Striking on a bell set in the base, the striking work visible on the back plate. In very good condition. Dim. 7 x 5 x 4,5 cm., excluding the handle.
