Notes

The second handle beneath the clock enables to fix it on the wall of a ship cabin, in such a way it does not swing from right to left during the journey. Similar clocks are often represented on paintings or prints showing decoration of luxurious ship cabins. The presence of the centre seconds enable to think the clock now offered for sale was specially made for the cabin of a ship captain.
