C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", engineturned. Gold cuvette engine-turned on the border. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and "foudroyante". GiIt and blued steel hands. M. 19"', frosted and gilt, three quarter plate with going barrel, Charles E. Jacot star wheel duplex escapement patented on 20 July 1852. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 52 mm.

Very fine example of watch with the rare star wheel duplex escapement, signed by its inventor. Previously in the collection of The Time Museum, this watch was sold by Sotheby's in New York on 11 December 1986, lot 361 of the catalogue.
