Not signed, France, circa 1890. Fine gilt bronze, eight-day, "grande and petite sonnerie" quarter repeating carriage clock with alarm and double calendar, in original fitted travelling box.

C. Gilt brass, "Gorge", entirely engraved with scrolls and foliage, glazed on five faces. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, subsidiary dials, for alarm setting, day of the week and date. Blued-steel "spade" hands. M. Brass, rectangular with going barrels for both the going and the striking train, platform with lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued-steel Breguet balance spring. Striking repeating and alarm on gongs with button on the top and grande sonnerie/petite sonnerie/silent optional lever in the base. In very good condition. Dim. 14,5 x 9 x 8 cm. excluding the handle.
