William Anthony, London, No. 1567, made for the Chinese market, circa 1795. Very fine and large 18 ct. gold and enamel pearl and diamond-set, centre seconds watch with special escapement.
C. Double body, bezels and pendant paved with splitpearls, the back panel of blue translucent enamel (slightly restored) decorated with a ring of engraved leaves and centred with an applied gold and silver rosette set with rose-diamonds and large split pearls. Hinged gilt brass cuvette with bright-cut engraved decoration. D. White enamel with blue Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds ring. Gold arrow hands. M. Gilt brass, "Chineses" calibre with free standing barrel, fully engraved with a floral and foliage decoration, single wheel duplex escapement, plain polished steel five-arm balance, flat balance spring. Signed on the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 66 mm.
