Chevalier & Comp. (Geneva), No. 2608, circa 1790. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel watch in a glazed gilt brass protecting case.
C. Double body, Directoire, the bezel and pendant with white and blue enamelled decoration, the back fully enamelled with a finely painted scene of a young couple in a garden nursing a baby, a dog on the left, a rose-diamond inlaid bunch of flowers on the right, the border with paillonné decoration. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals. Gold "arrow" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with a polished steel end-piece. Signed on the dial and back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 53 mm.
