French, Royal Exchange, London, No. 10955, made for the Spanish market, with London hallmarks for 1846. Fine and rare, 18 ct. gold hunting cased minute repeating "grande et petite sonnerie" clock-watch with date and special escapement. In original fitted box with a spare glass and an extra silver dial engraved with scrolled foliage and with applied gold floral decoration.
C. Five body, massive, "bassine et filets", fully engraved, including the reverse of the covers, the inner bezel and the gold cuvette on both sides, with flowers and scrolled inhabited foliage, the cover and the back with further Cupids and a mask. D. White enamel by Willis with Roman numerals and inner date ring. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 18"', frosted and gilt, three quarter plate, double train with going barrels, single wheel duplex escapement with cut bimetallic balance, blued steel balance spring and diamond end-stone. Striking and repeating on gongs with independent striking and repeating trains and works, repeating slide in the band. Signed on the dial and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 57 mm.
